A response in this time of unrest

Our staff is heartbroken by the recent events. The wrongful death of George Floyd in Minneapolis has shaken our nation and served as a reminder that there is still so much brokenness and oppression in our country. As a nation, we find ourselves yet again asking “why” after another unnecessary death has highlighted the evils of hundreds of years of injustice in our country. Through it all, we must hold tightly to Jesus whose Word promises that “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away”. (Revelation 21:4). Until that day, as believers in Christ, we must commit ourselves to be the light of the world, and as Ephesians 5 challenges us “Walk as children of light…try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”

Romans 12:15 calls us to “weep with those who weep.” As we wrestle with navigating our broken and fallen world, we do weep for the unnecessary loss of George Floyd’s life. We mourn with our African American brothers and sisters who are tired of seeing these tragic events repeat themselves. 1 Corinthians 12 reminds us, “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.” Today we are all suffering and struggling to understand the depth of this pain. Our prayer is that our lack of understanding would not lead to a lack of empathy for those who are hurting.

We don’t have answers, but we trust in our Lord who does. May we heed the words of Christ to, as His disciples, be known by our love. May we pray, mourn, and bring light to this world.

Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

After prayerful consideration and assessment of the events unfolding within our community and culture right now, our elder team believes that the best decision is to suspend our weekly Sunday services, and all other activities and events until further notice, in order to be responsible in this current climate. We do not take lightly our responsibility to shepherd and protect the flock that has been entrusted to our care. As the church, we are certainly not limited to a building – as we have taught for years at EVC. As believers we also should not carry ourselves in fear or panic, but this is the time where we as The Church should demonstrate the peace that we have through our personal relationship with Christ. The world around us needs a calming presence and the body of Christ is equipped by the Holy Spirit to be just that.

In lieu of our regular services, we invite you to join us for an online video worship experience and season of prayer this Sunday morning at 10:00am. We hope that you and your family will join us as we utilize the blessing of our technology to lead the church to seek the Lord in this challenging season. You can access the live stream via one of the methods below:

This is an opportunity for us to be The Church, alive in the community. I would encourage you to share the living hope that you have with others as you come in contact with them. We will keep you informed of any further updates through email, website, and social media platforms.

We look forward to seeing you and your family back here with us online this Sunday, March 15th at 10:00am. We love you, we're praying for you, and we are here for you as we rest and trust in Him!

Eagles View Church COVID-19 Update

Dear EVC Family and Friends,

This week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced there will be a staged and careful reopening of Texas businesses starting May 1st. You may be wondering how this affects EVC and when we will begin to meet again on campus for corporate worship.

Although we are thankful for progress and the positive signs we see in moving forward, we are entering cautiously into the next phase toward re-opening the doors of our facility, after consultation with several local church pastors and health experts. Our greatest concern is for the safety and well-being of our EVC family, our guests, and community. Also, due to the number of people that regularly attend EVC and the size constraints of our facilities, it is not yet practical or feasible to reopen our building at this point. There are many complexities we are still working through in order to be certain people are safe and that we are meeting CDC regulations in the midst of a global pandemic. Please know that we are putting together a measured approach and process that will be delivered in stages as we continue to monitor the situation.

We thank you for your patience and humbly ask for your prayers for wisdom as we seek the Lord’s perfect timing for our church to move into the next phase. In the coming weeks, as the situation evolves and regulations change, we will provide additional updates with definitive dates for re-opening our campus. Until that time, we will continue to work hard at providing online worship experiences and programming for all areas of ministry to help you stay connected.

Thank you again for your understanding, and we pray God gives you a spirit of peace and provides for your every need in the coming days.

Previous statements in response to COVID-19

Welcome to EVC

We are so glad you took the time to get to know Eagles View Church a little better. Please, know that our staff is open and available to answer any questions you might have.

EVC is a community of believers that have a heart for seeing lives changed. We know we are all broken, we all have our faults, but we know God is using us to heal one another and change the world.

What are the services like? Our Sunday services are at 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Services feature modern worship music and bible-based sermons that are relevant to issues and struggles that we all deal with.

When I get to EVC, What do I do?

When you arrive at the building, we recommend you enter the parking lot from Centerboard Ln and exit on to Bailey Boswell Rd when you're ready to leave for the day. We have two parking lots: our main lot on the south side of the building and our gravel overflow lot behind the building. In both lots, our parking team will help you find a space.

From there you can enter into our commons area from the south or west sides of the building. While you're waiting for service to start feel free to get some coffee and stop by our Guest Central location for more information about Eagles View Church. There you'll also be able to register your kids for our check-in system.

How Can I get involved?

At Eagles View Church not only want to know how we can serve you, but also how we can serve together. Our desire is that our church would be a hub for ministry in our community and world, and the only way we do that is with people like you serving with us.

So the big question isn't "Where do we need help?" But rather, "Where is God calling you?"

Check out our ministry pages for information on all current service opportunities we have at EVC, or feel free to contact one of our staff members. They'd be happy to help put God's calling in your life into practice.

Ready to sign up? Check out our Volunteer Page

Where do my kids go?

Safety and security for our children's and youth ministries is incredible important to us. A key part of this security is our check-in process.

At EVC check-in stations are located in the Commons space. Two are along the glass windows and another station is at Guest Central. There is a fourth station outside the East door to the children's ministry hallway, only families checking in children are permitted to enter there.

If you've never used our check-in system, please visit Guest Central when you arrive to get your children entered into our system.

All rooms for our children's ministry (Birth-6th grade) are located down the children's ministry hallway.

For more information check out our Preschool Ministry page or Kids Ministry page

High School Students (9th-12th grade) join our Sunday morning services. Middle School Students (7th-8th grade) meet for Middle School Life Groups on Sundays at 10:00am. (All students have small groups available on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm)

For more information check out our Student Ministry page.
